What course authoring tools does Open edX include?
Open edX ships with Studio, a web-based authoring environment where you build course units from text, video, problem, and discussion XBlocks. On Enterprise plans we also support custom XBlocks for specialised interactive content.
Which plans support LTI integrations with external tools?
LTI integrations are available from Pro and above. You can embed external tools such as virtual labs, proctoring services, or simulations directly inside Open edX course units via the LTI consumer XBlock.
How does Open edX handle learner certificates?
Open edX generates PDF certificates with a verification URL on all plans. Certificates can be triggered by passing grade thresholds or by manual staff action; you upload your own certificate template in Studio.
Can I migrate an existing Open edX course library to managed hosting?
Yes. We import course tarballs exported from any Open edX named release (Redwood, Sumac, or earlier). For full-instance migrations with learner progress and grades, that is included in the Enterprise plan.
